Durban's Opening Day of World Cup 2010

Durban provided a perfect winter's day for the Fan Fest and the thousands that were at New Beach to support Bafana Bafana in the opening game against Mexico.The setup of the Fan Fest area was brilliant, with visible policing, great facilities and a huge screen to view the game.
The crowd were festive and were treated to a cracker match and they erupted when SA went 1-0 up - the Vuvuzela's created a deafening roar.
We can all be exceptionally proud of Durban as a host city - such an experience!!
The opening match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium between Germany and Australia gives us the opportunity to showcase our stadium, and we will be bringing image updates of this and future matches held in Durban.
